Responsible gambling is all about playing responsibly. The general rule is: Be sensible and never risk what you can't afford to lose.

Online Gambling is an exciting form of entertainment, and whilst for most customers gambling is an enjoyable leisure activity, for a very small number there can be problems and gambling can cease to be fun.

Although there is no one set of behaviors definitively identifying customers with gambling problems, Bettown encourages its employees to use their experience and to be aware of customers whose behavior may indicate problem gambling. We have procedures in place to escalate any concerns and to consider whether or not it is appropriate to initiate interaction with a customer. When interaction does take place, the customer will be provided with contact details of a gambling charity and with information on the tools available to control their gambling behavior. Bettown provides customers with the information required to enable them to make informed decisions about their level of gambling but does not take those decisions on customers’ behalf.

We provide facilities for individuals to self-exclude themselves. Customers who wish to resume business with us at the end of their chosen self-exclusion period are required to complete a further 24-hour 'cooling off' period before they will be permitted to resume use of our gambling facilities.

We provide a facility for customers to limit the amounts they are able to deposit and/or wager with us. Once set, a deposit limit can only be increased by contacting our support. Limits will be increased again after a 24-hour 'cooling off' period.

You'll find all the information you need to set your limits or, if you think you need a break from gambling, to self-exclude yourself, in the Account section Edit Profile - or just contact us and we'll take you through it.

Here are a few tips to help you gamble responsibly:

  • Set limits on how much you deposit and play before you start gambling.

  • Decide how much you can afford to lose and if you hit that trigger then STOP.

  • Don't let playing get in the way of your daily responsibilities.

  • You shouldn't play if you're in recovery for any dependency

  • To gamble sensibly you need a clear head - so don't play if you are under the influence of alcohol or any other substance.

  • You should not see or use gambling as a way of paying off your debts with your winnings.

In most countries it is illegal for someone who is under 18 years of age to gamble. Bettown reserves the right to ask for proof of age from any customer and to carry out checks to verify the information provided. Customer accounts may be suspended and funds withheld until satisfactory proof of age is provided.
